What Comes With Locos Fajitas

Flour or Corn Tortillas?

Both are made in our kitchen, and you can pick either one. Most guests go with flour. It’s softer and wraps around a big bite of fajitas without tearing. Corn tortillas are smaller and have a toastier flavor. Put fajita meat in a corn tortilla and you’ve basically made yourself a street taco.

Chicken, Carne Asada, Shrimp or the Trio?

Chicken ($24) is the mildest and lightest of the four. It’s a safe pick for kids and anyone who wants the peppers and onions to shine.

Carne asada ($26) is the original. Fajitas started as grilled steak on the Texas border, and steak is still the pick for anyone who wants the richest, beefiest bite.

Shrimp ($26) comes as a generous serving and pairs well with a lighter drink after a hot day on the lake.

The Trio ($30) puts chicken, carne asada and shrimp on one skillet. It’s the order for people who can’t decide, and for two people who want to share and try everything.

Love Fajitas? Meet the Molcajete

If you like the sizzle, the Molcajete ($48) takes it a step further. It’s served bubbling hot in a traditional stone bowl called a molcajete, the same volcanic-stone mortar Mexican kitchens use to grind salsa.
Inside: shrimp, grilled chicken, steak and chorizo, layered with queso fresco, grilled onions, nopales (cactus) and our rich house-made salsa. It comes with rice, beans and warm tortillas, so you build it at the table just like fajitas.

It’s big enough to share. Want to go all out? Add a 6 to 8 oz lobster tail for $25.

Fajitas, Tacos, Burritos and Carne Asada: What’s the Difference?

Fajitas are grilled meat, peppers and onions served on a hot skillet, with tortillas and sides on the side. You build each one yourself at the table.

Tacos come already assembled, folded in a tortilla. Fajita meat in a small corn tortilla is basically a street taco.

Burritos are rolled up in a big flour tortilla, usually with rice and beans inside. Our Fajita Burrito is fajitas rolled up for you.

Carne asada is grilled, sliced steak. It’s the meat in our carne asada fajitas. Ordered as fajitas, it comes sizzling with grilled peppers, onions and tomatoes.

Where Fajitas Come From

What to Drink With Fajitas

Both Locos locations have a full bar, and two signature cocktails were practically made for a fajita skillet.

Jesse’s Cadillac Margarita ($17): Casamigos Tequila, 1.7 oz of Grand Marnier, agave gold and lime. The orange and lime cut right through rich carne asada, which makes it our go-to with steak fajitas or the Trio.

Lisa Lisa’s Paloma ($14): Milagro Tequila, Aperol, Sprite, fresh grapefruit and lemon. It’s bright, bubbly and a little bitter, so it works with chicken and shrimp fajitas and on a hot afternoon after a day on the water.

Fajitas for Groups

Fajitas are made for a crowd. Everybody builds their own, so picky eaters and big appetites both leave happy. That’s why they’re a favorite for boat crews coming off the lake, off-road groups after a day in the desert, birthday tables and family reunions.

Group fajita platters are available. Please call to set one up.

Fajita Questions at Locos Bar & Cocina

Where can I get sizzling fajitas in Lake Havasu?

Locos Bar & Cocina serves sizzling skillet fajitas at both of its Lake Havasu restaurants: 150 Swanson Ave on Restaurant Row near London Bridge, and 3620 London Bridge Rd on the north end of town. Choose chicken, carne asada, shrimp or the Trio. Every order comes with rice, beans, homemade guacamole, sour cream and homemade tortillas.

How much are fajitas at Locos?

Fajitas at Locos Bar & Cocina are $24 for chicken, $26 for carne asada or shrimp, and $30 for the Trio with all three. The Fajita Burrito is $24. Prices are the same at our Swanson and Northside locations in Lake Havasu, and guacamole is included.

What do chicken fajitas come with?

At Locos Bar & Cocina, chicken fajitas come on a sizzling skillet with grilled onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. On the side you get rice, beans, homemade guacamole, sour cream and your choice of homemade flour or corn tortillas. They’re $24 at both Lake Havasu locations.

How long does a fajita order take for pickup?

Most call-ahead fajita orders at Locos Bar & Cocina are ready in about 10 to 15 minutes. Call Swanson at (928) 732-0522 or Northside at (928) 466-9960, and your fajitas will be packed and waiting when you pull in. For group fajita platters, please call further ahead.

Are chicken fajitas healthy?

Chicken fajitas are one of the lighter plates on a Mexican menu: grilled chicken with grilled peppers, onions and tomatoes. To keep it lighter at Locos, go easy on the sour cream, pick corn tortillas, or skip the rice and load up on the veggies. Just ask your server.

Why do restaurants serve fajitas on a sizzling skillet?

A hot skillet keeps the meat and vegetables hot all the way through dinner, and the sizzle and smell when it reaches the table are half the fun. At Locos Bar & Cocina, every fajita order arrives on a sizzling skillet. Give it a minute and don’t touch the skillet; it’s very hot.

Are fajitas just tacos you assemble yourself?

Pretty much, and that’s the point. Fajitas let everyone build each bite their own way. At Locos, spread a little beans or guacamole on a warm tortilla, add meat, peppers and onions, top it with sour cream, then fold it up. Fajita meat in a corn tortilla is basically a street taco.

What’s the difference between a fajita, a taco and a burrito?

A taco comes folded and ready to eat. A burrito is rolled in a large flour tortilla, usually with rice and beans inside. Fajitas come apart on a sizzling skillet so you build them yourself. Locos Bar & Cocina in Lake Havasu serves all three, including a $24 Fajita Burrito that rolls the fajita flavors up for you.

What’s the difference between carne asada and beef fajitas?

Carne asada is grilled, sliced steak. Fajitas are a way of serving it: on a sizzling skillet with grilled peppers, onions and tomatoes, plus tortillas and sides to build your own. At Locos Bar & Cocina, our steak fajitas are carne asada fajitas, $26 at both Lake Havasu locations.

Are fajitas low carb?

The meat and vegetables on a fajita skillet are naturally low in carbs. The carbs come from the tortillas, rice and beans. At Locos, you can ask to skip the tortillas and rice and eat your fajitas as a plate with guacamole and sour cream.

Do you have vegetarian fajitas?

Veggie fajitas aren’t listed on the Locos menu, but the kitchen can make a vegetable-only version. Ask your server at either Lake Havasu location. Let us know about any food allergies when you order.

Are fajitas Mexican or Tex-Mex?

Fajitas are Tex-Mex. The name comes from “faja,” Spanish for belt, an old name for skirt steak. Ranch hands in South Texas grilled it and ate it in tortillas, and Texas restaurants made fajitas famous in the 1970s and 80s. Northern Mexico has a similar grilled steak dish called arrachera.

Can I choose corn or flour tortillas?

Yes. Locos Bar & Cocina makes both flour and corn tortillas in-house, and you can pick either with any fajita order. Most guests choose flour for fajitas because it’s softer and holds a bigger bite.

Is it okay to eat fajitas with your hands?

Yes, that’s how most people eat them. Build your tortilla, fold the bottom up and the sides in, and eat it like a taco. Grab a fork for whatever falls back onto the plate.

Can Locos do fajitas for a big group?

Yes. Locos Bar & Cocina offers group fajita platters; call to set one up. The Swanson private dining room seats up to 40, and the Northside patio holds up to 60. Call Swanson at (928) 732-0522 or Northside at (928) 466-9960.

Can I get fajitas to go?

Yes. Call either Locos Bar & Cocina location in Lake Havasu and pick up when it’s ready: Swanson at (928) 732-0522 or Northside at (928) 466-9960. We don’t take online orders. For large to-go orders, please call ahead.
